About Split Face

Echelon Split Face Block standard CMUs and Rockface Finish blocks are integrally colored pre-finished architectural concrete blocks with a beautiful, rough-hewn texture on one or more faces. Split Face concrete masonry units are molded with two concrete units attached face to face. The units are cured and then mechanically split apart, leaving the split face with a rough texture that emulates natural quarried stone. No two Split Face or Rockface block units are exactly alike. Echelon’s Split Face or Rockface blocks are available in both single-sided and double-sided split face texture to meet multiple architectural masonry needs.

*Split Face Block is not available in Minnesota.

Modern Masonry Using Pre-Blended Mortar

CEU Credits: 1 LU | HSW

Pre-blended mortar eliminates many of the variables and uncertainties of site-mixed mortar, thus reducing the potential for problems and liability with the finished masonry construction. In this course, we will look at the types of mortar available, the process and pitfalls of field mixing versus pre-blended mortar, and the significance of mortar in masonry assemblies.

Masonry Solutions for BIM

CEU Credits: 1 LU | HSW

This presentation provides a condensed overview of BIM and its impact on the construction industry, with a particular focus on new software tools that are changing the way masonry is designed, specified, ordered, manufactured, shipped, installed and maintained.
